Corrosion Testing and Monitoring
Digital Short Course
Corrosion testing and monitoring are powerful tools in the fight to control corrosion. Testing provides the necessary data for the evaluation and/ or selection of existing, alternative, or new materials in various environments. Monitoring allows workers to follow the effectiveness of a corrosion-control system and provides early warning when damaging conditions arise. In this self-guided digital course, students will learn - with the help of rich visuals, narrated animations, demonstration videos, and interactive quizzes - the techniques for corrosion testing and monitoring, as well as diagnosing corrosion failures.
- Explain the objectives of corrosion testing
- Outline the steps in a corrosion testing program
- Discuss the requirements for specimen cleaning and preparation
- Describe specific types of laboratory tests
